A simple act of kindness can change another person’s life.

Weston Hannon, a 6 year old boy has created such an impact in the City of Sun Prairie through the fruits of his labor.  He was given the opportunity to plant his own sweet corn in a field close to his home. With his love for farming, he worked along with Jerry Tierny, and Tierny Farms to plant his first crop. It was his desire to share his bounty with his community.

On August 26, 2017, Weston along with his family and friends hosted a charity event to sell the sweet corn harvested. This led to a total of $10,000 to be raised by Weston. The Sunshine Place was a co-recipient and received $5,000 to be invested in the City of Sun Prairie.

A total of 1,000 kindness bags were created to be distributed starting on Monday, November 13, 2017. This generous contribution from Weston has created a ripple effect where it positively impacts everyone involved in the distribution of kindness bags.

We are sharing this story to highlight the good will of our community. Everyone working together CAN make a difference in our city. Even at a young age, through the fruits of your labor you can do well.
