Helping Neighbors, Helping Kids... A Sun Prairie Tradition.

EXPANDING OUR FOOTPRINT TO SERVE

Sunshine Place is Sun Prairie’s focal point for those seeking help with basic needs such as food, personal care items and clothing.

In the last few years, newly added programming is our employment and resource area in addition to our Rapid Resource Deployment. This is in response to the identified needs in our community.

Sunshine Place is also home to solution-based programming delivered by partner agencies which include:

Joining Forces for Families,

Centro Hispano,

Community Action Coalition,

Home Mission Fund (Porchlight),

Early Childhood Initiative (RISE)

Dane County Time Bank

Over 14 different services ranging from free legal services, annual school supplies, beds for children, holiday gifts and weekly community meals are provided in our community resource center.

WHAT ARE WE DOING:

Sunshine Place is embarking on a plan to expand its physical footprint by securing ownership and repurposing the residential property that borders the north side of our 18 Rickel Road building.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT:

More than triple the amount of parking for our clients accessing the Food Pantry and lobby resource center.

Utilize the expanded surface area for mobile food pantries and fresh produce/product distribution.

Create additional space for distribution of product procured for children and senior programs.

Provide safer traffic and working conditions for our volunteers, clients and surrounding neighbors.
