/Connecting Volunteers

Sunshine Place connects volunteers with the needs of the community. We simply match eager and available volunteers in the area with unique and, perhaps, life-changing opportunities to help others who need an extra hand.

Are you interested in helping others in your community? Could you use a helping hand once in a while as well? The Dane County TimeBank can help provide you opportunities to help others in a wide variety of ways, as well as giving you access to resources that you may need on occasion.

We recognize the many wonderful assets of all residents of our communities as we match the unmet needs with unused resources. We each have talents and skills that someone else values. By sharing them, we can create community one hour at a time.

People exchange a wide variety of services such as yard work, computer help, painting, cooking, transportation, tutoring, housekeeping, crafts, fitness, to name just a few of the endless possibilities!

The TimeBank is an exchange system. People help each other and receive credits for their service. Anyone who helps another member earns one TimeBank Hour for each hour of help given, which they can then spend on an hour of service from anyone else in the network. Timebanking is a way to value the work we do for others in our community and the work we do in building that community. Our members exchange time to help meet the needs of our community members. Everyone's time is valued equally, no matter who they are or what they do.
