Through our housing services, Sunshine Place assists our neighbors in the Sun Prairie and Marshall area who are experiencing housing instability or the threat of utility disconnection.

Rays of Hope – Emergency Assistance Program

Utility Assistance to Prevent Disconnection. Guidelines and requirements to qualify for utility assistance: 
  • Must live in Sun Prairie or Marshall.  
  • Clients must have ongoing income to make future payments.  
  • Household must have a balance of $250 or less on utility bill to qualify.  
  • Can only receive assistance once every 12 months 
  • This program does not assist with rent, gas cards, or hotel/motel stays.  

Required documentation for utility assistance: 

  • Most recent copy of utility bill
  • Proof of household income (such as latest paystub, award letter)
  • ID
