Sunshine Supper Overview
Once each week, a participating civic organization, church, professional or other group will provide the core components of a free and nutritious meal.
One goal of the program is to provide a nutritious meal to individuals and families who would otherwise go without. A second goal is to provide a sense of community to all who receive a meal.
Values
Hospitality
All guests and volunteers feel welcome and comfortable.
Open Door
Meals are readily served to accommodate individuals and families in a welcoming, drive through or walk up environment.
Community
Meals are prepared together as a community of school, church, civic, and professional volunteers. Volunteers provide hospitality and a sense of community as meals are distributed.
Service
People from all walks of life are united in their desire to freely serve others.
Volunteers
Each week a local organization provides the meal and volunteers. As a result there are no current opportunities to volunteer at the Sunshine Supper unless you are affiliated with a hosting organization.
For information about hosting a meal, please contact sunshinesupper@gmail.com.
Host groups provide the main course and two sides for 400 people, plus 12 volunteers.
