Stuff the Bus

Stuff the Bus believes that every child in our community deserves to start the school year with the basic necessities, regardless of their family’s financial situation. This annual program provides backpacks and school supplies to Sun Prairie students in need.

We need the community’s help to serve a record-breaking 1,800 kids this year! Financial donations are needed to reach the a $20,000 fundraising goal to purchase supplies.

Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed to kids in mid-August. Information about distribution dates and locations will be sent out to families registered for free and reduced lunch through the Sun Prairie Area School District.

Summer Kids Challenge to Support Stuff the Bus

Sunshine Place is once again challenging kids to raise funds for Stuff the Bus again this summer. All funds raised will go to support Stuff the Bus, an annual program that provides backpacks and school supplies for Sun Prairie students in need.
 
Every kid who participates in the Summer Kids Challenge will receive a token good for a free scoop of Culver’s frozen custard. Each child who participates will also be entered into a drawing to receive the grand prize, frozen custard for one year from Culver’s (a total of 12 pints) & a backpack stuffed with fun items Kids age 17 and younger are eligible to enter. Thank you to Culver’s of Sun Prairie for their generous donation toward this challenge!
To participate:
1. Come up with a way to raise funds for Stuff the Bus. This could be anything from a fundraiser on your social media pages, a bake sale, a car wash, a lemonade stand, or even just asking your friends and family for donations. Feel free to be as creative as you would like!
2. Take a picture of how you are raising funds. Post the picture to Facebook and tag Sunshine Place @SunshinePlaceSP.
3. Email the picture to socialmedia@sunshineplace.org with your name and contact information for the drawing. The deadline to submit your photo to be entered in the grand prize drawing is Thursday, August 15th.
4. Relay the donations you collected to Sunshine Place.
5. Checks should be written out to Sunshine Place & mailed to us at P.O. Box 307, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. Please include “Summer Kids Challenge” on memo line. Donations can also be made on our website.
6. The winner of the grand prize will be drawn on Monday, August 19. The winner will be notified and we’ll also share information on how all kids who completed the summer challenge can collect their free frozen custard scoop token.
