S.O.S Food Fight Donation Drive 2026
Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation, but donations to food pantries are slowest between June and August. Join us in pushing back against hunger with our second annual S.O.S. (School’s Out Summer) Food Fight competition, June 11th through July 9th. Local businesses are partnering with Sunshine Place to collect non-perishable food and personal care donations at their locations to help keep the pantry stocked. The business who collects the highest pounds of food per employee wins, and we all win when everyone in our community can access food.

Donation Details & How to Donate Online:
Monetary donations will be counted at $3/lb to be added to a business’s total. Donate online using the form to the right (or below on mobile). Use the drop-down to choose which local business you would like your donation to count towards.
S.O.S. Food Fight Competition Details:
The competition will run from June 11 through July 9, 2026. To determine the winner, total pounds of non-perishable food items donated will be divided by the number of employees to get a lb/employee figure. The business with the highest pounds of food per employee is the winner!
Make Your Donation Count:
- Check out our Top Needs list for the pantry to purchase most wanted items, and to ensure you are buying sizes that we can use.
- Non-perishable food and self-care items donated to your business of choice must be in good condition. This means:
- Cans with dents no wider/deeper than a finger
- No smushed edges on cans
- No open packaging

Spread the Word
- Pull together friends, family, or co-workers to pool your donations and drop them off at your chosen donation point.
- Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and share our SOS Food Fight drive posts.
