The Bed Lady Program
A free bed program for youth in Sun Prairie and Marshall
The Bed Lady Program was created to provide school aged children and youth with a comfortable bed to sleep on. This program delivers new beds to Sun Prairie and Marshall children in need. To receive assistance, a direct referral from a school social worker, Community Schools site worker, or Joining Forces for Families is required. The referral is a very simple process that they work to expedite. Deliveries are made directly to a child’s home.
To request a bed, talk to a school social worker or the Joining Forces for Families Community Social worker at 608-825-3225.
No One Should Have to Sleep On the Floor
The Bed Lady Program accepts CLEAN GENTLY USED and NEW twin size bedding. We can only accept BRAND NEW pillows still in its original packaging. To donate items, you can drop them off at Sunshine Place, 18 Rickel Road or order from our Amazon Wish List to have them delivered directly to us.
Once we receive your donation, we sort and store for the time of need. We try to make it special for the children and youth by providing all the necessary bedding and pillows in the color/character theme they like. There are instances that we may have to go and buy items as our inventory is low.
Every year, the Bed Lady Program purchases over 100 brand-new twin-size beds and mattresses. This is our largest expense as we ensure to buy quality beds from a local furniture store. All financial donations are used to purchase the beds, bedding and pillows needed to support our program.
